It has been an honour and a pleasure being part of Realness Residency this summer of 2018 with my project TANZANITE.
6 weeks of intense work, challenging my project and myself for the best, at the paradise location of Nirox right next to the Cradle of Humankind, north of Johannesburg, where I could hear lions roar every night… and then 7 challenging weeks of work from Kigali.
Adding story, structure, characters, layers, details, meaning.
My first time in a screenwriting residency, my first time working with a team of people that support me and my project, who were able to create this bubble, where I could feel safe but also push to the limits. For the first time ever (!) could I let go of anything logistic and concentrate on the artistic craft itself.
The creative.
Needless to say that it felt amazing and humbling. I am so grateful for the support and progress made. For the network created, and the many other opportunities that it has already brought and will in the future.
And last but not least, many thanks to my friend and co-writer Kivu Ruhorahoza. You are so talented, it is a pleasure to be able to work with you.
For the first time in a long time I finally felt the alignment. Now lets pursue this adventure until it is completed!
TANZANITE, the journey is on. 🙏🏽🎬♥️
